This holiday season, watch talented Canadian artists bring the spirit of holiday cheer alive at The Body Shop “Give Joy” Live Art Window event. Each artist will paint their interpretation of what joy means to them in our boutique windows. The final works of art will be posted on The Body Shop Official Facebook page and fans will have the chance to vote for their favourite painting. The artist who receives the most “likes” will be awarded with a $1,000 Visa Gift Card.

Artist: Alessandro Seccareccia

Alessandro Seccareccia is a nineteen year old aspiring artist who was born and raised in Gatineau, Québec, and is presently a full-time student at the Ottawa School of Arts. Ever since grade school, he has always had a keen interest in drawing landscape and street art and during the last few years has been trying to develop his own style of art to its fullest potential, especially graffiti art. Over the years, he has been producing an array of different art works, some of them directly commissioned by local clients in both the Ottawa-Gatineau region and Montreal.

Artist: Ayo Akinola

Ayo has been working with The Body Shop for two years but has been painting for much longer. She started experimenting with drawing and painting in grade school many years ago, and began working as an artist in 2002. Ayo works with diverse mediums, most commonly, acrylic on canvas. Ayo uses her uniquely distinctive style using deconstructed shapes and imagery to represent movement in both abstracted and representational pieces.

Artist: Jeff Burgess

Jeff Burgess was born in Saskatchewan in 88. His influences at a very young age included dinosaurs, dragons, nature, ninja turtles and batman. With a crayon he began to bring his imagination to life on pad after pad of colored construction paper. His pencil kit has grown to include many additional mediums and techniques. His art is now fueled by nostalgia, his surroundings, and contemporary street art. His goal is an artist is to bring to his viewer a taste of his imagination and hope that they can grab hold.
